The Beta2 of SalesLogix 7.5 was released a few weeks ago. After Beta2 the final version will be released within the next days for the Business Partners first as a Gold Release. It takes a while until the complete package is ready. So, be patient for a very few weeks

A - It's IN the process of being released by the "Global Team" to the Operating Companies (ex: NA/EMEA/ASIAPAC)
B - Each Operating company will determine how/when/under what conditions they will release to the Partners.. followed by a release to the installed base.
C - North America has already set up their release schedule and has: 1 - Had an online webinar launch for the Partners 2 - Sent email announcements to the installed base (my clients have told me so).
D - North America has set the dates for media shipping: 1 - To the Partners first (it's always done this way) 2 - A week or so AFTER they send to Partners they will ship media to the installed base. (sometime after Sept 22nd)
These are TARGET dates.. and could slip if there are any critical issues.. of course.
Oh yes.. I read the article you you posted a link on... and don't let the $795 USD price fool you.. that is NOT the full price of the (North American) Premier version of SalesLogix .. and it's packaged/priced quite different in the various operating companies.. to post futher on price/packages is a bit of a violation of the Partner agreement we all sign and are legally bound to.
So, you need to talk w/your BP to find out what's happening... and I have NO idea as to when it will release in the UK.. maybe a UK BP could add something here.. Mike?

I received mail from SalesLogix last week announcing 7.5 and to expect it in the mail soon. I don't know the definition of 'soon' but my suspicions are just before the Sage Summit which is early November.

The installed base (in North America) has -AFAIK - always received their (physical) copy after the partner community has received their's. The release schedule for 7.7 posted for NA has dates on it that reflect that. As of this second.. the partner community has not received the (physical DVD copy of) 7.5 release.
However, the GOLD release was posted for download for the Partner Community on Monday about 20:45 EDT in the usual (Partner Only) place. All of us received an email notice on this and many have downloaded it.
Oh yes, there's a Hot Fix (HF1) for 7.5 on the DVD that you have to implement if you are doing web (VFS patch). It does not apply to Windows. Be sure and read everything before installing this version...
7.5 New features: I've got some info on my web site (www.rjlSystems.net) about the release AND AFAIK it's the only place you will see any benefit/change/features info on the Windows side of the 7.5 release. Sage's promo material and documents tend to lead you to believe that you have to go "web" to get some of these features. There's also what I call "un-advertised" features - for example... (multiple) attachments to an Activity. |

Thanks for the info. I did notice the lack of 'Windows' specific references in the lit I received. I'll definitely be checking out your sight for the Windows info since we are using that.

One thing to keep in mind is that Process Orchestration (which is powerful workflow and entity eventing built on Windows Workflow) is not just part of a web implementation, but is just as much for a LAN implementation for 7.5 as well.
Also, the SData layer (API exposed via REST) is also available for a LAN only implementation as well.
Those two features are huge and every bit as much for LAN clients as they are for web clients. IMO those two things alone make it worth-while to upgrade to 7.5 for LAN-only implementations.

I'd also add that being able to do Activities and Notes/Hiostory w/Leads is another BIG reason to upgrade to 7.5 on the LAN/Windows side.
.. and then there's the ability to attach "attachments" to Activities as well
