I am upgrading Saleslogix from v.6.2.4 to v.7.5.
Is it possible to upgrade MSDE to SQL Express without creating new remote DB on the remote client system?
If so do I have to run the Upgrade Existing Database on the remote Client?

Does any one have any suggestions?

Jee,

I'm not sure if it's technically possible or not but from my own personal experience we had to cut all new databases. The remotes don't necessarily HAVE to be upgraded to SQL Express but I strongly recommend it. Additionally, I've found that if a user needs both MSDE and SQL Express installed (perhaps to support an older app) that you'll still have to uninstall MSDE, load SQL Express, load the SQL database and then reload MSDE. The database loader for SLX does NOT like both DB engines in place. It get's confused or something. Others may have more technical explanations for all this. I'm just speaking from personal experiences of what worked and didn't work. (Trial and error)
