Following an upgrade from 7.2-7.5-8.0 we've been having trouble with the attachments and activity functions in the network client. The problem is that several columns (ACTIVITYID is the main culprit) are missing from the database post upgrade. I've compared the schema of the database post upgrade with a clean 8.0 database from the install disk.

As a test I made a copy of the database and reran the bundles from 7.2-7.5 and 7.5-8.0 which didn't really fix anything.

Can anyone tell me which part of the upgrade process alters the tables in the SQL database? I've greped through the upgrade bundles for "alter table" and similar with no luck. Where would I find the SQL scripts? I'm hoping that will give me some clue as to what went wrong and how to fix it.

There should be a bundle in the Upgrades folder to apply, along with instructions in the documentation folder. This is a LAN bundle that needs to be installed via the SalesLogix administrator program. Since you are back on 7.2, you may also need to get the 7.5 distribution and apply the 7.2 to 7.5 upgrade first.

As part of the upgrade I had applied both of the upgrade bundles using the manager according to the upgrade plan without any errors or failed steps. The database was patched through to 7.2.1 with all the available patches before I started and the upgrades for both 7.2-7.5 and 7.5-8.0 were applied and then patches from 8.0 onwards. The only possible patches that were missed were those applying to 7.5 but I can't see how something as critical as a table column would be missed in the upgrade bundle.

In any case it testing so far shows that I can apply the missing schema changes to the database directly and everything starts working again. Not ideal but without knowing where those schema changes get applied there's not much else to do.
