Just started with upgrading a development server SLX 6.2.1 DB. One of the first tasks is to install CRXI R2 on the Administrative Workstation. While we already have CRXI R2 but in a developer flavor, I was curious what the stand for SLX was on using the Developer version. After a quick call to support I was told for compatibility issues that the CRXI R2 version shipped with SLX v7 is the version to use. Other non-OEM versions could cause issues. I know this from past experiences with CR 8.5.

Another question I had answered was about the 'Check for Updates on Startup' found under the Help menu in CRXI R2. Needless to say this is something that was recommended to be turned off. Updates could cause incompatibilities.

So with that said, like with CR 8.5, the version of CRXI R2 to use is only the one found on the SLX v7 DVD or any official update announcements from SLX.
