Hi,

Has anyone upgraded slx 6.1 to 6.2 with Oracle database server on Unix ? We are having a hard time doing this. Converson fails in the middle of the process, when plugs-ins are converted. Oracle Trace files show weird looking table ID's like ATAS6^AA00FN2A. Initially we thought it was the code page used in Oracle, converted from US7ASCII to ISO8859-1, same problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Gus

I have not gone from 6.1 to 6.2 but I have gone from 5.1 to 6.2 running Oracle8i on Intel/Linux, and 6.2 to 6.24 running on Oracle9i on Sun/Unix. I did not experience the issue you describe.

Have you contacted SalesLogix Support?

Yeah, haven't had much luck with Saleslogix Support. We were able to take an Eval database from them, restore it on out server and perform the upgrade successfully. The same thing would create the above problem in our production database. We're reasonably sure its something in our production database, some object or some field type that the conversion program doesn't know how to handle.

I've made the double jump from 5.2 on MS-SQL to 6.2 on Oracle almost without troubles.
You have to use ISO8859-1 charset.
Check the Oracle Client version.
I've had troubles trying to run scripts with a 8.1.7 client on a 9.2 server.
HTH!

Dave.
