We have a rather unique set up at my company, we have multiple (7, all licensed) SalesLogix Instances across different business units, and they are on different versions of SalesLogix (v6.2, v7.0), all with dedicated application and sync servers (one per instance, so 14 servers in total) but they are hosted on the same database server.

I am trying to connect Scribe Insight throught the SalesLogix provider on my application server (v7.0, on Windows 2003.) and I'm wondering if there could be any problems with using the Scribe internal database created by my counter parts using the v6.2 database? Does each SalesLogix instance need it's own Scribe internal database or can we all just share that?

I think it should be OK because that database seems to hold logging information, but I'd love to hear from someone in a similar situation.

Thank you!

If all your SalesLogix servers have the same SlgxBOA adapter installed I think you can share the Scribe database, however, the right people to ask is the Scribe folks. Have you talked to them?

Hi Ian,
The scribe adapter for 7.x is also compatible with 6.x. Earlier versions of SalesLogix require a different adapter. Scribe can connect and work with multiple SalesLogix databases (and can move data between them). The target & source are defined in each dts. Scribe uses 1 internal database. So , the bottom line is it'll work fine.
