Exporting Attachements
Posted: 14 Sep 07 4:42 PM
This question is about EXPORTING! I'm looking for a utility to export all the attachments with an intelligent report of the objects they are attached to. Any ideas?

There's really nothing to export. All the attachments will exist in a directory, not in the database or anything. As far as a report, there's nothing that exists OOTB, but you have all the data you need for report in the attachment table.
As far as a utility, there isn't one, but as I said, you won't need one to get to the attachment files themselves. Is that what you are after?

So getting the attachments is easy enough ... how can I identify the objects they are attached to, with some meaningful metadata i.e. customer, opportunity, contact, etc. Thanks for interacting on this.

OK I see what you said ... "in the ATTACHMENT table". Just need to report on that, right?
