Merging two SLX databasesYour last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

I have the need to combine two SLX databases. One is 6.2 other is 7.2.

Here is my preferred plan of attack:
1. Upgrade 6.2 database to be same version as current 7.2.1 database
2. Create new users in orginal DB with maps to old USERID's and SECCODEID's for later update
3. DTS all upgraded 6.2 data into 7.2 database
4. then update any necessary secodedid's and userid's to be replaced with new id's

Roadblock I have here is both DB's have the original 6UJ9 site key. In theory, could I loop through the entire database and replace the 6UJ9 in all ID fields with a different site key? I have a utility that I wrote for another project that will loop through all tables and columns within a database and replace one string with another. Is that wishful thinking to attempt that?

I am trying to avoid having to use Scribe or something else if possible.

Any thoughts?
