Import ACT! 2000 data into SLX 6.2.3

I am trying to find a quick and easy way to get the data from ACT to SLX. Does anyone have any suggestions that do not require the purchasing of third party software, seeing as how I need to only do this once, i dont want to have to spend money on an application I will never use again.
Thanks in advance. |

Are you aware of the Import Wizard (importwiz.exe, which should be in your Program Files\SalesLogix folder)? That supports ACT!2000... I'm not sure I'd call it "quick and easy," but if you're only doing it once, an extra hour or so of frustration isn't the end of the world. |

To expand on John's posting....
There is a free UNSUPPORTED Act Import "toolkit" that Partners have access to. Get in touch with your partner and ask him/her to download you a copy. It's built using the IW. -- RJLedger - rjlSystems |

Hello NebSeb,
I also had my partner preform the same step. There's one peice of advice I can take away from the process is make sure your ACT! data is sufficiently clean and de-deduplicated. I found that i spent about a year deduplicating (12,000+ accounts) and (10,000+) contacts since it was only me and I have multiple duties beyond SalesLogix. Because ACT! is contact centric and SalesLogix is account centric, I had not anticipated having such a big problem with how my users entered their data in. Since it was my first time doing it, I lived and learned from my mistake.
