Hi, has anyone seen or created an import utility for CONTRACTS?

Thanks!

Since Contracts have an AccountID then by:
A - Exporting the Account name and AccountID
B - Matching them up with the contract data in a spreadsheet
C - Connect to the spreadsheet using the built-in IW
D - Map it.. import it..

Easy...

Or if you want to spend a "couple of bucks".. I'll build you a tool. - Contact me.

Hey there mate, I was also having this issue. I used the IW and mapped all the fields across, I wasnt able to map the ACCOUNTID field as its reserved for the import wizard.

When trying the import I got this error...

"Error inserting record into CONTRACT: Field 'ACCOUNTID' must have a value"

How do I map the ACCOUNTID if the wizard wont let me?

Regards,
Byron

Sorry.. missed the "R" in ContRacts and read "Contacts".

Contracts can be imported.. BUT everything thet the IW does is "Account" oriented. SO you need to add an AccountID field (with good data) to the imports data and then map it in.

Basically, you always need an "Account Source" when importing anything with the the IW.

Hmmmm, not sure I understand when you say add an AccountID field to the imports data.

I did the following steps...

Extracted AccountID from SQL
Matched them up to the accounts in the contacts spreadsheet. EG ACCOUNT,ACCOUNTID
Created manual import and used the ACCOUNTID for the self join
Mapped ContRacts to the ContRacts table
When mapping the fields I was NOT able to map the AccountID as it is reserved for the Import Wizzard (which doesnt make sense as there is no account field to map so how do we map the AccountID?)
Map everything else
Run Import and get the error stated above

I know you are servicing paying customers so I do appreciate the input already given.

Hi Bryon,

What version of SLX are you using? Do you have remotes?

I was able to get them in, I ended up using DTS and using their old reference numbers as the CONTACTID.

Thanks for the help everyone.

I exactly have the same problem, and I don't see how to solve it.
I know that there is an Ryan's article about how to generate a new table id, but it doesn't concern the Import Wizard, right?

In SLX, I have a simple custom table. i try to import a file in this table, but I receive the error described above because I'm not able to map my contactid.
Does exist a simple solution with the Import Wizard only?

Thanks in advance for your help.
