I am running an Import from a SQL databes into my SalesLogix database (v7.0.1) using Scribe 6.1. I am running an Update/Insert statement. The Update works fine, but the Insert is failing and the reason is "Null value was provided for a required field : [tablename]id" where [tablename] is the name of my table.

From searching IT toolbox and SLX Developer it appears that Scribe should be creating the table ID for me automatically if I leave it out of the import map (which I have done). Does anyone know why this might not be working? I have checked the Autoincrement field in Sectabledefs and marked that to 'T'.

Also this is a database that I upgraded from v5.2, just in case that matters.

I've seen some odd behavior like this with Scribe. I found the that if I split my Update/Insert into multiple steps, I can make it work.
Start with a Seek and then Update if something is found, Insert if nothing found. You can just copy your all your data links from one step to another.
Surprisingly, using a Seek+Update+Insert has better performance that an Update/Insert, according to the performance tips from Scribe.

Thanks Todd. I never realized that a seek would be faster than an Update/Insert, I've got some changes to make!

Changing this particular map didn't work for me but I think the reason is that this table was created in SQL and not in the Administrator, so I'm going to have to recreate the table and then re-run the map.
