Hi all,

Is it possible to upload a history note into the contacts section of SalesLogix, in bulk? I have a list of emails (in Excel) that have a history note paired with them I would like to be able to create a note in each contact's history table in SalesLogix 7.5.3.

I send the same email to 500 contacts, I would like to be able to quickly input the same history note for all 500 contacts. I'm thinking I might be able to write a script to run this, just checking to see if anyone has had any experience doing this and could make any pointers.

Hi Mike, thank you for the quick response and the link.  This will prove very useful.  One thing that I am struggling with is that, the list of emails that I have in the excel sheet are not put together as a group in SLX. It starts out in SLX but then I have to do some manipulation to the list in excel (delete some records). Do you know how to create a group in SLX out of a list of emails that lives in Excel?

If the list starts in SalesLogix and you are only deleting records out, then transfer them to an ad-hoc group instead of exporting them to excel. You can remove records out of the group. Then use the tool on it.

The other tool Check for Dupes (enables you to paste in the ID's from XL - it will then create the group for you automatically ! If you check page 5 of document "..You can also use this utility to create a group based on “pasted ID’s” – for example..."
