Help checking duplicate records within a group
Posted: 03 Aug 07 5:51 AM

Hello there,
I'm creating a group to view all the contacts that have been associated with an opportunity within the last 2 years. In my list some contact names appear several times, as some contacts have been associated with several opportunities. How can I get each contact name to appear only once? Thank you for your help,
Samuel |

Samuel, The Group you're building is a one-to-many join, meaning that for a given Contact, there can be one or more Opportunities. Within the Query Builder, there is a check box on the Defaults tab that can be checked to "Return Distinct Rows Only". Recognize that this will depend on the columns you have selected in the Layout tab. If you select only columns from the Contact table, such as Fullname, Email, etc., then a Contact that is associated with multiple Opportunities will still only be displayed once. If you add a column from the Opportunity table, such as Description, then you will see multiple instances of the Contact if they've been associated with more than one Opportunity. I hope that helps clarify things for you. |
