DateDiff function in SalesLogix Scripting
Posted: 09 Sep 09 8:06 AM
Hello,
I am trying to use DateDiff function to get the number of days between today and the PaymentDate
in SalesLogix Scripting. And then I have to use the return value to validate in my code. But when I test it-
It is not giving me error but the returns 0 no matter what date I put in Paymtstart.
Is DateDiff() Supported in SLX scripting?
Below is my code-
Dim PayStart, Today ,PS
PayStart = GetPropertyOf ("Paymtstart", "Text")
Today = Date()
PS = DateDiff("d",Today,PayStart)
msgbox(PayStart)
msgbox(Today)
msgbox(PS)
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Sundari

Are you working with Legacy Code here? (it appears so given that you are using GetPropertyOf).
If possible switch over to an ActiveForm, the script behind it will work.
If you need to stay on Legacy code, there are 2 ways around it:
Use Global Variables and an Invoke call to an Active Script which then calls the DateDiff and returns a value on a Global Variable.
Or:
Convert your Dates to Double and then figure it out
Dim dblToday as Double
Dim dblDate as Double
dblToday = CDbl(Date())
dblDate = CDbl(CDate(PayStart))
msgbox CInt(dblToday - dblDate)
