Is there anyway someone can help me get a copy of the beta or one of the new download sites. We have been trying to go live for months now, and the newsletter about V7 has caused my management staff to push us back yet again. I desperately want to migrate all the customizations I have made over so we can finalize ASAP. If anyone can help, please let me know!

Hi Danny,

You'll need to contact Sage.

I contacted the Project Manager and he told me the Beta program had ended and that I could try to get a download link from a partner. I noticed however, that the Sage website has Sept. 12 as the ship date for partners which is only 3 days before the ship date to all customers. I am all current with my support and will receive a free upgrade, it is just waiting out the 2 weeks doing nothing that is going to be killer. If anyone knows anything I can do, please let me know. I am also a .Net developer so if there is an easy way to get started with form mockups, let me know. I realistically expect to continue to use Architect to edit the Main Account Detail and Contact Detail forms.

v7 is considered a pseudo service pack upgrade rather than a 5.x to 6.x jump.

As long as your customizations are in VBScript and not legacy, every single thing you do now can be upgraded easily. Most people wait until SP1 to deploy a new version of SLX because of the track record. You'd also need ample time to know the feature enhancements and make customizations to take advantage of them.

If you've resolved to get this implemented now, don't wait. This will let your company get used to everything before you switch a couple of things up on them in the upgrade to v7.

Danny,
The "download" site is restricted to partners only.. although we know the link we cannot give it to you or any other non-partner person/company.

See if your partner will download it and then pass it over to you.

Also, Sage SalesLogis has NOT issued Crystal XI R2 licenses to ANYONE (those of us who did beta have a "time-bomb" set of Crystal licenses). and I've not seen a procedure as to how that is going to happen (I've put in a request for info to be supplied on it). I'd assume "normal channels".

We have a little bit of a rift forming with our Partner. We have been trying to go live with Saleslogix since April '05 and keep getting pulled this way and that. Eventually, the decision makers pulled me on board to just take over the process and handle all of the imports and customizations. Clearly, the partner who had quoted us for some very hefty billable configuration hours, is not very happy with our current implementation plans. But thanks for the help nonetheless.
