I'm afraid the issue with SLX not running under Vista still exists with RC1 (Release Canidate 1). This suggests that the problem is with SalesLogix not Vista. I'd expect another service pack from Sage to fix this issue before long. I can't see Sage forcing its users to upgrade to 7.0 just because they are using Vista. Then again it may depend on how serious the issue with 6.2 is on Vista.

Guess time will tell. Just thought I'd mention it.

If you want to test for yourself. I'd recommend running Saleslogix.exe in XP compatibility mode. The data connector login window doesn't like to come out from behind the program logo window when running native Vista.

Hi Mark

Yep, it's known - and is not supported right now. I have a screen shot of Admin working but it's flaky at best. As Vista won't be out yet there is plenty of time to get it sorted. Especially as no "sweet" spot businesses are going to upgrade that soon.

BTW How is RC1 [vista] - I found B2 to be pretty flaky and slow in itself ?

RC1 is much most stable and faster than Beta 2. Still some quirks but most seems to be driver or software compatibility related at this point. The .NET Framework 3.0 doesnt have a configuration tool in the control panel any more either. I'm hoping that is an oversite because it's a serious thorn in my side at the moment.

That's good news - I used to have lots of issues with Explorer dying or just hanging up - did you see those (are they fixed if so?)

I actually think the RC1 version of IE7 that I installed on my XP SP2 system is more stable but it's better than before. I still installed Firefox.

Sorry meant Windows Explorer - not IE [hanging]

I'm running IE RC1 and it's great - but have been running since 1st release and thought it was always great !

Well I've not noticed any problems thus far. I've been running Vista RC1 as my production system for the last two days. (I'm only going to be with this company until the 22nd so I'm not too worried about lost productivity. LOL)

No Explorer problems that I can report. I'm more anxious to try it out at home and see if some of my games will run. Diablo 2 didn't want to run on Beta2, nor did Unreal Tournament 2004 (Yea I know they aren't the newest but I still enjoy them.)

I've been a bit disappointed in driver support still but it's still a few months out. Supposedly Microsoft has reshifted to a November time frame again. I'm not holding my breath though.

Based on the policy handbook I've gotten from my new job I wont have to worry much about beta software. LOL They are a UNIX, NetWare, Lotus Notes kinda place. It's going to be a real shift in thinking for me.

Does this mean you won't be working with SLX anymore?

Actually I will. It'll just be on an Oracle database...supporting about 150 remotes (on MSDEs). I'd love to see things shift to a Blackberry on the road and Citrix on the laptop. We'll see. I'm dealing with an IT Director who started his IT career in the 60s. For all I know he helped write UNIX! LOL
