6.2.6 Update

fiogf49gjkf0d Anyone know when this is supposed to go public? I know many of you here are BPs so you already have access, but I've been hearing about it for nearly 3 weeks and I'm getting a bit anxious, especially now that Microsoft has pushed out the their time zone patch. Sure we've got the registry hack but our IT team is looking to update the servers soon and I'd much rather install 6.2.6 on the servers (we are already at 6.2.5).
Anyone know anything that your partner agreement allows you to talk about? Is there a reason it's being delayed? I was able to download 6.2.6 HF 1 from the site but not 6.2.6 itself. Struck me as odd, like it was there and then it was removed. |

fiogf49gjkf0d It's out now. I don't know why it isn't available on the website, but I do know it has been released. You might just try calling SalesLogix tech support to see if they can point you in the right direction. |

fiogf49gjkf0d Sage have apparently withdrawn it because of problems with the SLX Mail Client, and will reissue it.
I got this information from the saleslogix-l mailing list thread called Post SP6 SLMailClient Problems

fiogf49gjkf0d Given the need for this patch I would have thought it would make more sense to keep the 'flawed' 6.2.6 patch out and just release a hot fix to take care of the Mail Client. Maybe it's just me but the built in mail client seems pretty minor in comparison. |

fiogf49gjkf0d I agree completely. This is madness, we will now have two versions of the same service pack. Some people are already live with 6.26 (old) and will have to roll it back and install 6.26 (new)
The good news is that a fix has just been released, but hasn't hit the support site yet.

fiogf49gjkf0d If you are an Outlook/Exchange shop then teh Slx Email client "bug" has zero impact to you. The only folks that have to wait are Lotus,GroupWise, etc.. and Outlook "haters" that use teh SalesLogix Email client.
Don't bother to wait for the "new" SP6 if you already have downloaded the "old" one.
NOBODY will have to roll back or re-do anything. There's even a seperate copy of a fixed SalesLogix email client exe available.. I have it and other Partners can also get it via the Partners NG.

fiogf49gjkf0d As you probably know by now, SP6 is back up for download. All that was changed was the SlxEmail Client.. nothing else.
Any other "bugs" will (may)be fixed in HF's.
