Daylight Savings Workaround problems

fiogf49gjkf0d I am having a problem with one of the users computers. I have applied the daylight savings registry patch for SalesLogix that keeps SLX from breaking after the Windows DST update. The thing is every time the computer is rebooted SalesLogix breaks down and it is necessary to reapply the patch. Does anybody know what is causing this? |

Eugene,
What version of SLX? Can you upgrade SLX to a DST friendly version? Does the user have administrator rights to the box?

Sage highly recommends NOT to apply the SLX DST registry patch. They suggest to upgrade to v6.2.6 or v7.1.
As long as the user has access to run the SLX DST registry patch with their own rights a temporary workaround would be to place the SLX DST registry patch in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ so it runs everytime ANYONE logs into that computer.
I must also ask a similar question that John asked - What version of SLX are we dealing with on the client? What version of SLX is on the SLX DB server? |

fiogf49gjkf0d The SLX version is 6.2.3.
There is also another issue with the DTS registry patch. Even if I upgrade SLX to DST "friendly" version 6.2.6 some computers will have the Error 217 or do not start at all when trying to open SLX even with 6.2.6 until the registry patch is applied. |

Eugene,
Uninstall the Microsoft DST patch and use the SLX DST registry patch UNDO. Then do a full uninstall and reinstall of the SLX application. Apply the SLX DST patch, install the Microsoft DST patch, then verify everything works. |
