Hi David,
If I can get on the presenters list then I'll be there. Last I spoke with them they were not sure if they were doing the same type of presentation tracks or not from non-Sage employees. I'll let you know when I hear

Hola all!
I was looking over the agenda - I didn't see anything for developers - it seemed to be geared towards management and Power Users...
Did I miss a section?
Ryan, Will you be presenting again?

Hi Carla,
I'm trying to get on the presenter list again. Last I contacted Sage about it they said they were seeking more along the lines of "customer success stories", not speakers on other technical topics (from non-Sage people). I'll post here if that changes though. But maybe that means they'll have less of a "dev track" for sessions? That would be too bad.

I was at last years event, and I found that most of the good presentations were by non-Sage people (Ryan included). Most of the presentations done by Sage folks were pretty dry and boring. The information was good in the Sage presentations, but they could use more dynamic speakers. |

This event is happening at the beginning of the Sage business year (their year ends Sept 30th) so I'm not suprised on the "commercial" slant of the event. There's been a strong push by Sage on the Partner Community to sell.. sell.. sell.. (did I say sell?
I was asked last year (4 days before the event) to be a speaker and do a technical presentation.. due to the late timeing.. I turned them down because of client related activities going on (an upgrade . Also have not heard (or asked) about presenting this year.. will probably skip the event anyway. -- rjl |

I always go to Loretta Carroll's sessions. She does a session on tips and tricks for administrators and find that she's always really good. |

I presented last year in Nashville, and that was fun. One thing I wish Sage would do in the Summit Session agenda is indicate whether the presenter is a Sage person or a customer. It seemed that every session I chose to attend had the same SLX person presenting. Hey, maybe allow a SLX developer to present, or a support person! The meeting is in Chicago this year which is certainly closer to our Madison, WI location, but the logistics as compared to Nashville (everything under one roof) seem much more byzantine. Haven't decided yet if I will attend... Also, at Nashville they invited me into a back room and interviewed me on camera about our SLX experiences. Since that time I haven't heard a peep about this. Maybe it will be used in this year's Summit, or perhaps I'll be spliced in with the Snowman on YouTube. |

I was interviewed at Insights too.. was asked several weeks before. Also was interviewed by a research firm (several weeks before Insights) that was working on the white paper (IDC)... NO credit given there either...
The article finally came out.. one or two "comments" from me were in it but NO credit to me or my Partnership.. Not in either documet/article.. NOT happy .. will not interview again unless someone guarentees publicity. -- rjl |

I'm going but I haven't looked at the session list to see what I'm going to check out. I highly suspect that next year I'll be skipping it. Budget constraints say I can either do the Summit or a training session. Dang it. |

I'll be going and happen to be presenting this year, Last year at last minute they asked that I help moderate a session in Nashville, This year I am doing a session on increasing User Acceptance and Adoption. Sharing some ideas and things we have done to get the people using the application. Last year I agree with Rick, the best sessions were from non-sage people. Developers track this year is very limited. I think that the next big developer push will be when ever they get to the integrated developer in version 8 or what ever they are going to call it.
Would be good to meet some of you again.. Chicago should be fun.... COLD... but fun

I agree, too. I think every Sage personel hosted session I attended contained at least aa discussion about the SLXProfiler. The non-Sage hosted sessions tended to be more open to non-Sage topics, allowing a different approach than the others.
I hope the 2008 Sage Summit will be held in a more exotic location. Wish in one hand ... (well, you know the rest of the saying)
See you there!
