I'd like to use a subquery in my report but cannot figure out where/how to specify it. There is a section in the CR help that talks about subqueries, but the options mentioned in the help do not appear in my CR UI (or I can't find them). Does anyone know if the version of CR XI that ships with SalesLogix 7.2 supports subqueries?

If not, can anyone suggest how I might add the following filter to my query:

where PickListId =
(select ItemId from sysdba.picklist
where PickListId='PICKLISTLIST' and Text = 'Activity Types')

thanks,
Ken

R you calling the report from a form.
If Yes then pass the query string to the crystal report at run time, instead of binding with crystal report i.e.
GlobalReportController.CrystalReport.RDC.SQLQueryString = .......where PickListId =
(select ItemId from sysdba.picklist
where PickListId='PICKLISTLIST' and Text = 'Activity Types')

I am calling the report from the Reports section - no scripting involved.

I figured out that in the Database Expert, the Add Command option lets you write the query yourself, subqueries and all. I'm still curious if there is a way to add the sub-query within CR when you use the CR GUI to build your queury, but at least I am not stuck now.

You can add extra conditions in the Report Selection if you want to narrow the selection further.

You can use parameter fields if you want give the user options on how the query should be constructed.

If you want to display data from multple one-to-many tables, use sub-reports within the main report.

As you said we can you use Add command to write complex queries.But can we call such reports from the reports section because when you add report to saleslogix it asks for main table which is not available in this condition
