Report LoginYour last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

Hi,

I've been making my own Crystal Reports and when I run them in SalesLogix my users have to log in to view them. The built-in reports don't ask this so i'm guessing it's something i'm missing. I called my business partner support and they suggested un-checking 'save data with report' in Crystal Reports, which I did but to no avail. They're stumped and so am I

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

A couple of thoughts / questions.

I am assuming the login required is for a SalesLogix Uersname and Password.

If you are using any dynamic parameters from database fields, they will require your users to login.

Otherwise more details about the type of report you are creating will be helpfull.

Hi Brian,

The login the report is asking for is the SalesLogix username & password. I'm using Active Directory authentication add in so users are not normally asked to log in.
There is one dynamic parameter in the report. This parameter is where you choose the SalesPerson to report on (userinfo.username). Is it the case then that whenever you add a dynamic parameter to a report you will be asked to log in?

The report is fairly basic, once you choose a SalesPerson you are returned a list the that person's accounts. (I'm still getting to grips with the Crystal

Thanks for your help!!

Chris

Chris,
That Dynamic username is the cause of your login Dialog box.
Depending on how your report is setup you should be able to filter for users with the SalesLogix Pre Report filter.
Otherwise you will need to create a static list of users (which I know is not preferred).
As far as I know there is no easy way around this in Crystal, maybe someone else knows of a workaround.

Best regards, Brian

Ahh right I see, that is a bit of a pain as all the reports I've done use dynamic parameters!
Do you know of any knowledge base articles on passing the pre-report filter conditons from SalesLogix to Crystal?
If not don't worry, they'll just have to get used to logging in to the report

Thank you very much for you help!

Chris
