When trying to run several reports from SLX 7.2 I get the error:

Unable to retrieve the report.
The report cannot make an OLE DB connection.
Please contact your Administrator.

These reports work fine in Crystal Reports 10, but give this error when ran from SLX. The only thing separating these reports from others I use that work fine is that they use a DB that is not associated with SLX. Can reports ran from SLX use non-slx Databases? Or is it more likely a problem with the connection?

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks.

The short answer to your question is no - your SLX report can access only objects in the SLX database.

But you could create a SQL Server view in the SLX db which gets the other-database data for you. Make sure that the view is owned by the sysdba schema and register it through the SLX database manager - then it should be available to you in your reports.
