Web reporting 7.5.1 frozen

Hi,
When I open a report, the report popup freezes. I have one server with the Web CRM, another server with the Web reporting.
I have 1 warning and 2 errors in the event logs located in the Web CRM server. Any idea?

Do you see any entries in the event log on the reporting server? The entries you've listed don't seem to me to have any bearing on web reporting.
Have you deployed the web reporting portal as documented in the 7.5 SP1 documentation? Things changed significantly with this service pack.
For what it's worth, I am struggling with web reporting on 7.5.1 also. My issue is that after a period of time the report portal will suddenly stop responding. No errors in the event log, no other visible symptoms or side-effects. Just an apparently hung web reporting website. In our case, the web client will freeze up when navigating the report menu or simply not respond to clicks on the "View Report" button. A simple IISRESET fixes it, but, needless to say, this sucks. SalesLogix tech support tells me no one else has reported any issues like mine with web reporting for 7.5.1 - it either works (and stays working) or doesn't work at all.
Anyone out there have a successful web reporting deployment for 7.5.1? If so - care to share the secret?

Charles - has reporting EVER worked in your environment? It looks like you might be dealing with a configuration issue. Doug is correct, it did change quite a bit in 7.5.1 and includes a step in App. Architect that it didn't before. Let us know if you are dealing with an issue after successful implementation or if this has never worked.
Doug - many of our clients are working fine on 7.5.1 web reporting. We do just fine internally. From a support standpoint - I can't speak for them. But in our professional services organization it works just fine. If an IISRESET works for you every time, can you monitor whether or not a series of report runs seems to be causing it? In other words, if you run invoice reports every month end and it dies near the end of the month every time, perhaps it is high demand or a report that is not set up correctly? Maybe a user running the reports against groups that are not created in a correct manner? Just some thoughts to hopefully narrow it down.

For what it's worth we have pretty much the exact same issue and there is no patter to which report or process is causing it. We have since moved our reporting server off of the other 2003 R2 box and onto a VMWare image running nothing but 2003 R2 server onto the same server as our main SLX web system (64 bit 2008 box), but since the clean install on a fresh server and image we have only had the issue happen once in 3 weeks (we are assuming something on the other server was causing this, since it was not a fresh install of the OS). Before we would get it several times a day since the upgrade and had the same errors in the event log. It will probably crash now that I've said this... |

SalesLogix provided a couple of updated DLLs that fixed the problem. I'm not sure if there is a hot fix for it, but I expect 7.5.2 will include the fixes. Contact your Business Partner or SalesLogix tech support for an update.
