Amending a Crystal Report
Posted: 07 Aug 09 5:14 AM
Hi all. Hope you can help me. This is my first post.
Ive recently taken over Saleslogix and I need to amend a crytal report. Its not a major change. But im worried that if I make the change I will mess up the connection (to SLX) in some way. I was hoping that someone could put my mind at ease.
Would amending a report alter the connection??
Many thanks in advance.

The connection is set at runtime from the client.
Just make sure you don't change the provider.

Hi Donna
I am the author of a blog post on customerfx.com that covers reporting in SalesLogix.
There are over 50 post discussing SLX reports in which I have commented on and then started fixing adjusting or imporving all of the standard SalesLogix report. During these posts I try to talk the reader through How I accomplished the modifications.
I am sure if you read through most of your questions will be addressed. I suggest starting with this article:
http://customerfx.com/pages/reporting/2009/02/26/lets-fix-the-account-address-book-sample-report.aspx
also this one, it explains how to add reports to SLX.
http://customerfx.com/pages/reporting/2008/06/04/adding-reports-in-sage-saleslogix.aspx
You might even search through the articles for the report you are working with.
If you have any simple questions feel free to contact me directly -

Good Luck
