I contacted Sage and they said there is no current way to determine user login and time in system usage. Has anyone come across this request from their executives and what did you do?

Not sure exactly what you are asking.

Do you mean, determine who is logged in, how long a given user has been logged in, and be able to report on this over a given historic period?

I'm sure Mike Spragg will be along shortly, as he has a free utility to do this called User Audit. Details here: http://empath-e.com/support/slxutilities.asp

Mike Spragg's User Audit should provide you with what you want. We use it and it works great.

On a slightly different approach...

There is also a Visual Analyzer dashboard that allows you to see HOW people have updated the system over time. So what it does is provide you an interactive dashboard showing you all of the different "touches" that people have made to the system. It includes information about how many activities they've created, how many records they have created and modified and much more. There is some information available at:
http://www.radishtools.com/db_system_usage.html

The screen shots on the web are a bit out of date - I need to update those to reflect the actual released product. Contact me if you are interested in a demo. (Use the email address for the website - it will get to me)
