KnowledgeSync events fire but nothing happens

fiogf49gjkf0d I have some events which happen every 15 minutes and should send email if there's a record change in the query.
The query runs fine and records are returned and I see that Monitor does actually check them as scheduled. Sadly, no email is ever sent and no errors are generated. It's as if there are no records returned from the query. I have other events which do work and email is sent to the same recipients.
Any clues are appreciated. Thanks. |

fiogf49gjkf0d Hi, Richard,
I recently struggled a bit with Knowledgesync running here at Promega.
Long story short, I would have to say that one of the below probably helped me solve our problem. A. Using a dedicated service account for the Knowledgesync services. B. Creating events as that user in the Knowledgesync Administrator. C. Thinking of Knowledgesync as a front-end for SQL triggers. Once I looked at the event as a product of the trigger, I realized that I had some problems with my SQL. D. I had some other ah-ha moments in reference to distributing Crystal reports. Mostly involving confirming that the reports would run on the server, with a local copy of Crystal. That's a whole other subject, IMHO.
The moral of the story, be logical. Check your SMTP using telnet, or make sure that your MAPI profile is properly configured if you're using Outlook. Try a scheduled email with no trigger. Then check your SQL, and double-check your SQL.
Happy Monday, Mark |

fiogf49gjkf0d I have been working with KnowledgeSync for a couple of years very successfully.
1. Is the KS service owner a domain user with local admin rights? 2. Can you do a test email out of KS admin? 3. Is this Exchange? If Exchange, there are quite a few configuration hurdles to consider. Check the KS Implementation Guide.
Hope this helps, Sherri

fiogf49gjkf0d This might sound silly but did check the settings for
REPEAT NOTIFICATIONS FOR REPEATED ITEMS? On the first screen. The query might return data but the business rules prevent the action.
