IQ report problem....

I am attempting to correct a problem I am having using SLX 5.2 with IQ reports 6.0.
I'm having a strange problem with IQ objects configuration - basically,it works fine from IQ Objects directly (launched through the Start menu or IQ button) but won't work through the Reports button in SalesLogix.
What's more strange is that when I run a report through SalesLogix, I get an invalid account error, and after that, IQ Objects won't work either until I retype the DB password in the "Database Connection Defaults" window in IQ Objects.
When I enter the system administrator Id/pw the process workes fine, but for security reason, I cannot give this out.
Is there a way for me to set the id/pw in IQ reports or SLX?
