Crystal Reports not opening

fiogf49gjkf0d I have a user with a laptop who is a remote SLX user. The user is a member of domain users and local users on the laptop. When he opens SLX the reports listed in the reports view do not do anything.
When I logon as a domain admin on another PC and login to SLX as this user, reports are ok.
What are the minimum permissions required on the local PC to run SalesLogix?
thanks

fiogf49gjkf0d Did you ever find the answer to your problem? I have recently had an entire group of persons (in the same department), loose the ability to view a crystal report. Everyone else can view the report ok. |

fiogf49gjkf0d What version of SLX is this?
If this is a version before 7.0.x then there should be a CRYSTAL directory in the WINDOWS directory. What I've usually been told by SLX Support is to copy the CRYSTAL directory to th WINDOWS directory.

fiogf49gjkf0d Actually, you want to copy the CONTENTS of the CRYSTAL directory to system32.
This is because Crystal is not TS install aware ( a Crystal issue.. not SalesLogix) and the Crystal dll's end up outside of your search path. System32 is always in everyone's search path.
This issue and work-around has been known for years. -- rjl |

fiogf49gjkf0d Thanks for your reply.
The users can print and email the report just fine. However, the report will not render when attempting to open it from within SalesLogix 6.2. Here is a copy of the error report:
Error running selected report. Please ensure the report exists and the database connection is defined. Access violation at address 600472B4 in module ‘crviewer.dll’. Read of address 00000000 |

fiogf49gjkf0d Had the same issue on my machine. I just installed SP3 for Crystal 8.5.
This sorted me out for Crystal.
