Error while running report
Posted: 10 Apr 07 5:13 AM

I have created a Crystal Report for a user. However, when I run it on server with admin login FOR THE FIRST time it runs; however when I try for 2nd time to run it, I get following error message:- "Error running selected report. Please ensure that report existsand the database connection is defined. Error: 534 Error detected by database DLL. Execute "
Also an amusing thing is, again when I run the report after closing SalesLogix and then relogin in, it runs! Can any one please explain this abrupt behaviour of Crystal Reports?
Thanks in advance!

Does the user get the same error? How about when you run the report from the SLX client from your workstation?
Try running the report several times in the Crystal Designer. Try it with SLX open and SLX closed while you run the report from Crystal. Try re-releasing the report from the architect. If all else fails you could try reinstalling the SLX OLE DB provider and/or reinstalling the Crystal viewer |

Hi David,
Thanx for your response and help....
Yes, the user too gets the same error.
Now listen this:- When I perform following steps from my admin login the report just opens and works proerly in first go itself:-
1) Log into SalesLogix Client 2) Click on Reports in navigation bar 3) Refresh the database 4) Now open the concerned report
It just opens successfully in 1 go without any error and works fine with the results.
However when I asked the user to follow these steps on his side, he is still getting that error. P.S.:- I tried all the things that you mentioned in your reply(rereleasing the report, opening report with SLX closed and open, etc.
About the last suggestion that you gave:- "If all else fails you could try reinstalling the SLX OLE DB provider and/or reinstalling the Crystal viewer" can you please throw more light on this? I have to do this on user's machine? How can I do these things?
Thanks in advance!
