I am using Crystal v 8.5.

Can you tell me if/where I am going wrong with the following formula please

both are reset at a particular group

({#1~Count Subs Amount})-({#Actual Amount Count})

I basically want the above formula to give me the difference between the Subs amount minus the actual subs amount sold.
My formula on the first group is returning the correct difference. i.e

Subs Amount = 980
Actual subs amount sold = 784
Difference = 196

however on the next group it is bringing the following. i.e

Subs Amount = 196
Actual subs amount sold = 196
Difference = 784

The difference should be 0 - any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried creating the summary using the formula syntax of Sum({Sub},group) - Sum({Actual Sub},group) ala SummaryFunction (fld, condFld)?

I did try this see below however I am getting the following error message 'The ) is missing' .

Sum ({#1~Count Subs Amount},GroupName {USERINFO.USERNAME})-({#Actual Amount Count},GroupName {USERINFO.USERNAME})

The following may work:
Sum ({#1~Count Subs Amount},{USERINFO.USERNAME})-Sum({#Actual Amount Count},{USERINFO.USERNAME})
