QuickXporter - Quick Data Export Utility

QuickXporter is a data export utility that allows data to be exported in a quick and easy manner. There are several export formats available. You can choose from the following formats:

  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • HTML
  • Plain Text
  • Rich Text
  • Comma-Delimed Text (CSV)
  • Tab-Delimited Text
  • Data Interchange Format (DIF)
  • SYLK Format
  • Copy to Clipboard

How to use QuickXporter?
1.) Select a BDE Alias or an ODBC DSN. If the database requires a username and password, you will be prompted to provide that information.
2.) Select a table from the BDE Alias or ODBC DSN to export.
3.) Choose any columns in the table to export by checking the appropriate boxes. You can quickly check or uncheck all columns by right clicking and choosing from the menu commands available.
4.) Click the "Export Data" button. You will then be prompted for the export format and given the option to export to the screen (ie: bring up the file) or to export to a file (you will be prompted for file name/location).

Note: This utility works with all versions of SalesLogix although it does require either a BDE alias or an ODBC DSN to connect to the data source. QuickXporter also works with non-SalesLogix databases.

Quick it certainly is !!
Ryan - as this is downloadable FOC - could we have a version without the CustomerFX stuff at the end ?? Don't wish to take away the kudos - but would be nice to send to a customer for tracing faults.

I suppose I could live with that. I've removed the CustomerFX stuff at the end of the exported file (now there is no footer info). The splash screen stays (which does look a little prettier now). I built this a few years ago for my support people and I've never really used it myself. I forgot what an ugly app it was, so I've cleaned it up a little.

Anyway, re-download the file to get the new version.

Hi, have just installed QuickExport onto the Server where we have Sales Logix installed. When I try to boot up the program it advises: "an error occured while trying to initialise the borland database engine error $2108".

Any idea what we need to do with this or what we maybe missing?

Hi Gregory,

This utility was built long ago for a version of SalesLogix that worked quite differently than recent versions. It will only work with versions previous to SLX version 6 (basically from v1 to v5).

Do you have an updated version that can work with v7.1?

Hi Adam,

I do not and don't plan on making one since it would require a full rewrite as all of this code was based on BDE (for SLX versions prior to v6). Sorry Frown
